Pakistan denies deploying forces in Saudi Arabia
The Pakistani Ministry of Information responded to a Reuters report claiming that Pakistan had deployed between 30,000 and 40,000 soldiers to Saudi Arabia to support it against Yemeni threats, particularly against the Houthis. The report also stated that Pakistan had sent military equipment and contracted military advisors to support the Saudi and Yemeni forces. The ministry clarified that maintaining security over the Holy Sites and the Kingdom is non-negotiable, that operational details are confidential, and that the information in the report is inaccurate. They called for reliance on official sources and not to depend on fabricated information. Reuters had previously revealed that Saudi Arabia is considering military options against the Houthis, including ground operations in Yemen and air support, and that Pakistan has sent equipment and troops to support these efforts. However, Pakistan has not officially confirmed the presence of troops inside Yemen.
