Malago remains interim football chief
A solution has been reached that allows Giovanni Malago to continue leading the Italian Football Federation as an interim commissioner, despite his resignation from the presidency due to a procedural violation involving his failure to register as a member of the federation at the time of his election. He has been appointed temporarily pending new elections, which are expected to be held in January, amid concerns about the impact of political interference on the federation's stability. It is worth noting that Malago won the June elections with 68.58% of the vote over the previous candidate, and he is currently facing challenges related to the national team and the preparations for hosting Euro 2032.
