Britain might expel Israeli diplomats over Jerusalem consulate
There is a looming possibility that Britain will expel Israeli diplomats if Israel proceeds with its decision to close the British consulate in East Jerusalem this week, in response to a dispute over sanctions targeting Israeli settlements. Israel had ordered Britain in September to close the consulate and withdraw its diplomats after Britain announced a ban on the trade of goods produced in settlements in the West Bank. The deadline for this decision ends on Thursday, potentially affecting around 30 British diplomats and their families.
