Israeli army casualties reach 30,000 over three years
According to data from the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Rehabilitation Center has received around 30,000 injured individuals from security forces since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023. The total number of patients currently under the center’s care has reached 91,200. Psychological injuries make up the largest part of the aftermath, with 63% of the wounded suffering from mental health disorders. It is expected that the total number will reach approximately 100,000 by 2028, with a significant increase in cases of intellectual disabilities and post-traumatic stress disorder. In response to the growing needs, the budget allocated for rehabilitation has been increased by 88% to 10 billion shekels, with expanded services including mobile treatment teams and assistance dogs, aiming to address ongoing challenges and provide long-term care for those affected.
