Macron reviews new nuclear missile test
French President Emmanuel Macron oversaw an initial test of an intercontinental ballistic missile launched from a submarine off the coast of France. This was the third version of the "M51" ballistic missile. The missile, which entered service a year ago and has a range of approximately 4,700 kilometers, was launched from the "Le Vengeur" submarine after a comprehensive maintenance operation. It was not equipped with nuclear warheads and landed in the northern Atlantic Ocean, far from the coast. The test aims to verify the readiness of the submarine's strategic weapons system and is part of extensive upgrades to France's nuclear capabilities.
