Libyan academic's disappearance raises kidnapping concerns
Libyan academic and media personality Mohamed Sharafeddine Al-Fitouri went missing after heading to the Graduate Studies Academy in Janzour, west of Tripoli. He was last seen accompanied by a colleague before losing contact with him. His car and phone were later found in the Anjela area, but his fate remains unknown. Human rights organizations warn that the disappearance could potentially be an abduction and demand that authorities launch a thorough investigation to locate him and determine the circumstances that led to his disappearance, amid ongoing cases of mysterious disappearances in western Libya.
