Lebanese Army Completes UK Training
The Lebanese Forces and the British Army are currently conducting joint exercises called "Pegasus Cedar 2026," lasting three weeks. The goal is to enhance the capabilities and organization of the Lebanese Army and to coordinate with friendly armies. The drills include reconnaissance operations, raids, combat in built-up areas, airborne insertions, mortar fire, and involve personnel from the Lebanese Army, Britain, the United States, Italy, and France, with observers from Qatar, Jordan, and Cyprus. These exercises are part of efforts to support the Lebanese Army, which faces challenges such as equipment shortages and limited capabilities, amid a plan to disarm Hezbollah and international commitments to support its deployment and operations in southern Lebanon.
