Government troops recapture areas from Houthis in western Yemen
The Yemeni government forces have launched a military operation to recapture important areas from the Houthis along the western coast, including the strategic Bab al-Mandab port. They advanced toward al-Umari camp in Dubaib on the Red Sea coast. The operation resulted in regaining control of Dubaib Airport and its surroundings, as well as making progress against the Houthis in the region, with hundreds of them captured in the early hours of the operations. These attacks are part of the Yemeni government's efforts to assert full control over the entire territory after the Houthis took over Bab al-Mandab Strait and other areas on the coast since September of last year, within the ongoing conflict that has been ongoing since 2014.
