Ferguson Discusses Health Crisis and Dementia Fears
Legendary coach Alex Ferguson revealed his personal fears of developing dementia as he gets older. He pointed out that frequently heading the ball during his football career raises concerns about potential future health effects. He expressed optimism, citing the example of boxer Jake LaMotta, who lived until 95 years old, and showed support for his brother Martin, who is suffering from dementia. Ferguson bought a house near him and supported initiatives to combat the disease, including a musical program that helps rekindle memories for those affected. Ferguson has experienced previous health crises, most notably a brain hemorrhage in 2018, but he continues to attend Manchester United matches and advocates for dementia awareness and support for those affected.
