Jordanian Writer Samer Khair on Resilience
The interview with Jordanian writer Samer Khir Ahmed explores the significance and lessons of the Great March, which marks its ninetieth anniversary—serving as a lesson in resilience, willpower, and flexibility. It clarifies that its core lies in the ability of peoples to correct their course from within, ensuring their continuity despite challenges. The message is not exclusive to China but exemplifies how a nation can persevere and maintain its project through clarity of purpose, unity, and patience. He emphasizes that current global crises are more related to ideological outlooks and political decision-making. The stories of a nation’s success are not born from strong, dominant positions but from vulnerable places, deriving strength from the capacity to challenge difficult circumstances of war and poverty. He highlights that the most important lesson for developing countries is understanding their local terrain and relying on gradual experiences rather than making big leaps. The spirit of the march reinforces that steadfastness toward goals combined with flexible strategies achieves stability. He advises young people to regain a long-term perspective on major projects and to learn from the experiences of nations rather than imitate them or be dazzled by external appearances.
