US soldier detained in Japan over murder suspicion
A U.S. Marine soldier has been arrested after a 39-year-old woman was found murdered in a hotel in Naha city on Japan's Okinawa Island. Her body showed signs of having been killed. Investigations revealed that the 20-year-old soldier, stationed at Futenma Air Base, entered the woman's room with an individual believed to be a foreigner who was clean-shaven, then left while carrying her belongings. He was taken into custody as investigations continue, just hours after the body was discovered. Japanese and American authorities are cooperating in the ongoing investigation.
