Pakistan to discuss Houthis in Riyadh
Iran has proposed holding a meeting of the Defense Committee of the Mecca Agreement in Riyadh to discuss the possibility of establishing political communication with the Yemeni Houthi group. This was discussed during an emergency meeting scheduled for next week. The Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister clarified that the goal is to resolve the issue quickly, and that so far, there has been no formal text of the agreement—only a verbal understanding between Pakistan and Iran. The Saudi-Turkish-Pakistani defense agreement was signed in August, which states that an attack on any of the three countries constitutes an attack on all of them. The leaders of these countries condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia during their recent meeting.
