Young Gaza girl in neonatal care reunites with mother
The article discusses the story of Bisan, a Palestinian girl born during an airstrike on Gaza, in which her sister also died. She was extracted from Gaza after her family's home was attacked by Israeli forces in October 2023. She was evacuated along with a group of premature infants to Egypt. Despite losing her mother and being in critical health condition, Bisan survived and returned to Gaza after several months away. She was among the twenty-five infants released from a hospital in Egypt, although seven of them had passed away. She now lives in difficult circumstances, adapting to a life of war and destruction in Gaza, and coping with early childhood after experiences filled with fear and loss. Her situation highlights the need for long-term psychological support to help her develop a relationship with her mother, who continues to care for her remotely through video calls. It is emphasized that rebuilding the bond between mother and daughter requires time and effort, as the ongoing Israeli escalation continues to impact their daily lives.
