Iraq retrieves her from Lebanon... Who is Aliya Hassouni
Alia Hassouni, a former employee of the Wasit Health Directorate, was recovered from Lebanon to Iraq after being sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for embezzling public funds amounting to more than 3.77 billion Iraqi dinars. The recovery process was carried out in coordination with Lebanese authorities through INTERPOL, as part of Iraq's efforts to pursue fugitives abroad and combat corruption. The sentence was executed against her, and the embezzled funds were returned. Reports indicate that the investigations revealed her involvement in two embezzlement cases, for which the Wasit Criminal Court issued a life imprisonment verdict and ordered her to return the misappropriated amounts.
