Wambach saddened by star betting ad
French basketball player Victor Wembanyama, star of the San Antonio Spurs, unequivocally stated that he refuses to join NBA stars who promote sports betting websites. He considers that players promoting these platforms is sad and aims to inspire rather than generate monetary profit. He explained that league regulations allow partnerships with match prediction companies but prohibit direct gambling promotion in front of the audience. This comes after other stars, such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant, signed deals with betting platforms, sparking controversy over the ethics of gambling promotion in sports.
