NATO warns of Russian campaign, Putin vows full defense of Kaliningrad
Tensions are escalating politically and militarily between NATO and Russia due to the war in Ukraine and European security arrangements. NATO affirms that the risk of a military attack on its territories is currently unlikely, but warns of ongoing Russian offensive campaigns that include airspace violations and hybrid attacks. Meanwhile, Moscow has warned that it will use all its weapons if the Kaliningrad region is threatened. European countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland continue to move toward acquiring nuclear weapons for self-defense. Russia accuses the West of escalating the war and supporting Ukraine, with President Putin stressing that Russia does not intend to attack anyone and will respond decisively to any potential attack, while continuing to produce weapons domestically. Moscow also criticizes Western intelligence support for Ukraine and describes Western actions as threatening Russia's future, emphasizing the need to reform the United Nations and criticizing Western influence within the organization.
