Germany's inaugural F-35 arrives
Lockheed Martin has delivered the first F-35 fighter jet to Germany, as part of a deal in which 35 aircraft were ordered to replace the country's aging Tornado fleet. The F-35 is a fifth-generation fighter known for its stealth and radar capabilities, making it one of the most advanced aircraft in the world. It is currently used in numerous military operations worldwide, including the war against Iran. Germany's Defense Minister stated that this delivery marks the beginning of a new era for the German Air Force, happening amid Europe's efforts to increase its military spending in response to the need to enhance its defense capabilities against international challenges, particularly following pressures from former US President Donald Trump’s administration to boost defense spending.
