Trump bans three news outlets from White House
U.S. President Donald Trump announced the ban of three major media outlets from entering the White House: CNN, MS Naow, and Politico, accusing them of spreading false news and biased coverage. He stated that the reason for the ban is their continued reporting of fabricated stories and claimed that Politico received illegal funding of $8 million from the government during the Biden administration. These steps come amid rising concerns over restrictions on press freedom, with reports indicating that the Trump administration has used regulatory agencies and legal means to pressure the media, leading to a decline in the United States’ press freedom ranking, which has fallen to 64th place out of 180 countries according to the Reporters Without Borders index.
