Trump bars three media outlets from White House
U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to ban representatives of three major news outlets—CNN, MSNBC, and Politico—from entering the White House, claiming they have been spreading false information. This move is part of strict measures against independent journalism and is likely to face legal challenges for potentially violating freedom of expression and press freedom protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Trump has also called for the suspension of news programs and satirical shows that he finds unfavorable, and has asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to revoke the licenses of some stations that criticize his coverage. This comes amid an escalation in his stance against the media, with repeated attempts to restrict news coverage in ways that hinder journalists’ work.
