US Army Sends Drones to South America
The U.S. military has transferred MQ-9 Reaper drones from Africa to the U.S. Southern Command to bolster counter-narcotics and counter-terrorism operations. This move is part of efforts to redeploy military equipment in the region, aimed at supporting potential operations in countries like Ecuador, where joint military activities with the United States have already begun. Despite concerns over a potential decline in U.S. presence in Africa, operations against terrorist groups continue. However, the withdrawal of assets may complicate efforts in the region.
