The behavior of Real Madrid players, led by Kylian Mbappé, during the Elche match a few days ago, sparked controversy in Spain after they wore warm-up shirts bearing the phrase "We Are All from Ceuta" partially. This drew widespread criticism. Mbappé clarified that he fully supports the city and its residents, and that wearing the shirt was a club decision, not aimed against Ceuta. He expressed solidarity with migrants who are suffering, stating that the intention was to promote a message of peace and humanity. His action received criticism from supporter groups and sports officials, and triggered debate about the appropriateness of such messages in the context of the humanitarian crisis the city is experiencing after thousands of migrants arrived during the summer, with dozens of casualties during crossing attempts.
