The American-Lebanese Congressman Daryn Lahoud and diplomat David Hayil sent a message to Lebanese leaders, emphasizing that there is a rare opportunity to strengthen Lebanon's position due to Hezbollah's losses in the war with Israel. However, this opportunity requires decisive actions from Lebanese authorities. They discussed broad American support, including legislation amounting to $1.5 billion aimed at helping to strengthen the Lebanese Army and enable it to confront Hezbollah. They also highlighted the importance of increasing the American military presence and underscored the need for economic and governmental reforms to continue making progress. They warned that this opportunity could fade away if swift and effective measures are not taken, stressing the importance of military victories to maintain Lebanon's advances, with ongoing international support to ensure this shift persists and that Hezbollah's losses become permanent.
