Foldable iPhone Duo appearance issues surface before launch
Apple announced that the repair cost for its upcoming foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, is $1,500 outside of insurance programs, while it drops to $999 for AppleCare+ subscribers. Repair costs outside of warranty include replacing the screen, back glass, camera, and battery, and these prices are high compared to Samsung's foldable phones, where screen repairs for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 range between $419 and $579, and the first repair of the Galaxy Z TriFold screen costs $699.50, with significantly lower costs for Apple insurance plan subscribers. Pre-orders for the phone begin on October 16, with an expected store release on October 23.
