WhatsApp now shows ongoing callers
WhatsApp is working on developing a new contacts tab within the Android app, allowing users to gather all names and information on a single screen to easily see the current status of each contact, along with a green dot indicating who is currently online. The update includes features for searching by name, phone number, or username, as well as two options for sorting the list either by activity or alphabetically. The app also plans to add birthday reminders that will appear next to contacts' names, and to enable direct messaging with Meta AI, all while maintaining users' privacy settings. The update is expected to be released after the testing and development phase is complete, but no official date has been announced yet.
