Apple prepares first touchscreen MacBook

Apple is preparing to launch a new version of the MacBook Pro featuring an OLED touch-supported display and a lighter design, with redesigned internal components to significantly reduce weight—especially in the 16-inch model, which previously weighed about 2.18 kilograms. The main changes include the introduction of an OLED screen that offers higher contrast and deeper colors, along with touch support for the first time on portable Macs, while retaining the keyboard and trackpad. Stronger hinges will be used to resist pressure during touch interactions. Additionally, macOS is being developed to work smoothly with touchscreens, with interface changes to support touch input, though the operating systems will not be fully integrated. These updates are accompanied by replacing the camera notch on the screen with a Dynamic Island design to improve the user experience. Apple is also working on OLED technology for the upcoming iPad mini, which will feature a higher-contrast display, a faster processor, and adjusted front camera positioning to enhance horizontal use.
