The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has launched the “Jiu-Jitsu Family Award” to recognize Emirati and resident families that support the sport’s growth and help develop talent and national teams. To be eligible, at least two members of a family must be involved in jiu-jitsu—as athletes or through coaching, refereeing, administration or volunteering. Applications will be assessed against five criteria: continuity, achievements, diversity of participation, community service and an inspiring story. Nominations are open from November 6 to 17. The federation will announce and honor the winning families on November 22.
