The inaugural Arabian Saluki Championship for the 2026–2027 sports season will get underway in Al Ain on November 7 and in Al Dhafra on November 14. It is being organised by the Emirates Falconers’ Club and the Arabian Saluki Centre in Abu Dhabi. The competition will comprise 10 rounds across four categories: speed (1,000 metres), middle distance (1,500 metres), endurance (2,000 metres) and stamina (2,500 metres). The final round will be held in Al Dhafra on March 20, 2027. The championship aims to preserve purebred bloodlines, develop the sport of Arabian Saluki racing and broaden participation. Accompanying events will include a beauty contest and simulated hunting with a mechanical lure.
