Madrid Star Ref Mockery
Marc Cucurella came under criticism after footage circulated showing him mocking the assistant referee, making sarcastic gestures of approval and repeatedly saying “brilliant” after a penalty awarded to Racing Santander against Real Madrid was overturned. Real Madrid won the match 3–0 amid protests over refereeing decisions. Racing coach José Alberto said what surprised him was that the incident leading to a penalty for Real Madrid had not been reviewed.
