Al Ahli's Clasico Blunder
Al-Ahli lost 1–6 to Al-Shabab in the Clasico after its loaned-out striker, Ricardo Matias, scored twice and contributed to two more goals: a free kick that led to Al-Ahli’s goalkeeper being sent off, and a penalty converted by Roger Martínez. The article argues that Al-Ahli played a part in its own defeat by loaning out Matias, despite his impressive form with the under-21 team, where he scored four goals in the last four rounds, and by not giving him enough opportunities with the first team. He is due to return to Al-Ahli next summer.
