Ronaldo snubs young stars
Cristiano Ronaldo has declined to vote for the Kopa Trophy for the best player under 21 for the fifth time, according to the French newspaper *L’Équipe*. He has not voted for the award since 2021, following a dispute with Pascal Ferré, the former editor-in-chief of *France Football*, after Ferré attributed to Ronaldo the ambition to end his career with more Ballon d’Or awards than Lionel Messi. Ronaldo denied this and accused Ferré of lying.
