Dubai Desert Classic Maintains Decades of Success
The 38th edition of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic Golf Tournament will take place in January 2027 at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai. It presents an opportunity to enhance Dubai's sporting reputation and develop its economic and tourism impact, especially with the participation of star Rory McIlroy, who is aiming for his fifth title in the tournament. The 2026 edition had a significant economic and tourism influence, recording around 15,605 hotel nights and media value reaching 742.1 million households worldwide. This reflects the event's status and growing global interest in golf in the region since its inception in 1989. McIlroy's participation, a two-time consecutive Masters champion, underscores the importance of the event in strengthening Dubai's presence on the international sports stage.
