Casablanca Court Comments on Morocco-Senegal Crisis
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) issued a statement outlining the date for deciding the final controversy of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations between Morocco and Senegal. The final ruling is expected to be announced by the end of November. Senegal had originally won the title after a 1-0 draw with Morocco in the final, but the African Football Confederation decided to strip Senegal of the title and award it to Morocco, due to protests by Senegalese players during the match regarding the awarded penalty kick for the Atlas Lions. The hearing was held in Lausanne on October 8, and the court's deliberations are still ongoing, with the full decision along with legal justifications expected to be announced in a few weeks.
