Al Riyadh Art Launches Tuwaik Sculpture Forum 2027
The Riyadh Art Program, one of the projects of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, has announced that applications are now open to participate in the eighth edition of the Tuwaiq Sculpting Forum in 2027, scheduled to take place in Riyadh under the slogan "Deep within the Roots." The forum aims to explore the layers of the earth, memory, and culture that shape the place, emphasizing that roots are not only connected to the past but are also a source of growth and future reformation. Twenty artists from Saudi Arabia and around the world will participate in this edition, selected by three professional art curators, including British, Italian, and Saudi artists. Participants are required to have at least three years of experience. The event will feature sculptural works made from various materials such as granite, metals, and mosaics, with the possibility of using granite sourced from within the kingdom, available in its three distinctive colors. The forum allows the public to follow the creation process over three weeks, complemented by workshops and interactive programs to enhance engagement with contemporary art. The exhibition will conclude with a public display, where the artworks will be distributed across different sites in Riyadh. This forum is considered a key pillar of the Riyadh Art Program, launched in 2019 to strengthen the cultural and artistic life in the capital, with a focus on public art and its integration into the urban space.
