Juan Jaspard, a former president of Barcelona, addressed his controversial statement about star Lionel Messi. He stated that he spoke from the heart and that he loves Messi very much, but he expressed his opinion in a way that was not very successful, as it relates to the club’s best interests, and his relationship with Messi is similar to that of a father and son. He clarified that his comments were misunderstood and may have been an attempt to support the club, emphasizing that Barcelona remains above everyone else. His remarks came after fierce criticism regarding his stance on a possible honor for Messi at Barcelona and his private relationship with the player.
