French Union criticizes Infantino on FIFA funding
The article highlighted criticism from the president of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo, regarding FIFA's policy of distributing the revenues from the 2026 World Cup. Diallo explained that only 7% of the tournament's total revenue is allocated to participating national teams, which he considers unfair, especially since the total revenue from the World Cup reached around 15 billion euros. Many teams have incurred losses despite high profitability. Diallo called for adopting distribution models based on criteria such as sporting merit and the economic size of the countries, rather than absolute equality, in order to achieve fairness in profit sharing. He also emphasized the importance of reforming FIFA governance and ensuring accountability in the election system. Expectations are for a new FIFA presidential election to be held in the coming weeks, with a desire to resist favoritism practices and to emphasize fair equality among the national teams.
