Mourinho questions Vinicius's suspension timing
Jose Mourinho, the head coach of Real Madrid, sharply criticized the decision by Spanish football authorities to suspend the team's winger, Vinicius Jr., for four matches, just two hours before the Champions League match against Roma, due to his red card in the Villarreal game. He expressed his displeasure with the timing of the announcement, which significantly disrupted the team’s preparations, especially given the importance of the match. He questioned why the player could not have been informed days or at least hours in advance of the game. Mourinho also criticized the congested match schedule, considering it a sign of disrespect and noting that it causes the team to feel exhausted before facing AEK Athens and Valencia. He pointed out that the timing of the suspension was illogical, emphasizing that it affects the team's performance and damages the reputation of Spanish football. Despite these challenges, Real Madrid managed to overturn the match's result in their favor, winning 4-3 after successful substitutions made by Mourinho. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform well despite the difficult circumstances.
