Abdul Hamid First Saudi in Champions League
Saudi international defender Saud Abdul Hamid made his first appearance for French team Lens in the Champions League, following his recovery from a thigh and knee injury that kept him out for 48 days. He played in the starting lineup against Sporting Lisbon after missing several matches due to an injury sustained in the opening match of the tournament against Oyekser. Abdul Hamid joined Roma, Italy, on loan in August 2025, and the permanent purchase contract was activated in June 2026, making him a Lens player through 2029. Throughout the season, he participated in 33 matches, scored 4 goals, and provided 8 assists. He also helped his team win the French Cup after their victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
