Nuers catastrophic error sets Bundesliga record
A match between Augsburg and Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga saw Manuel Neuer, Bayern's goalkeeper, score the fastest goal in Bundesliga history after a fatal mistake he committed at the start of the game. The opportunity was seized by forward Robin Vildhauer just 8 seconds into the match. The fault was due to Neuer's delayed handling of the ball, allowing Vildhauer to steal it and score the goal, breaking the previous record of 9 seconds. This mistake is attributed to Neuer's declining performance; the 40-year-old keeper is in his first season after more than two decades of professionalism, and some doubt his ability to continue with the team, especially after repeating errors in recent times.
