Iqirt fined and suspended in Southampton espionage case
The English Football Association has suspended Southampton manager Tonda Eickert for six weeks with a conditional warning and imposed a fine of $37,000 after he admitted to illegally monitoring the training sessions of three rival clubs last season. The independent committee confirmed that the punishment will remain suspended until the end of the 2027-2028 season, following his exclusion from the playoff final for promotion to the Premier League and a deduction of four points in the 2026-2027 season due to monitoring training sessions at Oxford United, Ipswich Town, and Middlesbrough. Southampton's team is currently in 13th place in the Championship with 10 points after eight matches.
