Ronaldo Honors Messi's Farewell
Cristiano Ronaldo publicly sent a message of respect to Lionel Messi after his international retirement, describing him as a player who has done a lot for his country and stating that his departure from the Argentine national team was very sad for him. Messi scored a goal and provided two assists in his last match with Argentina, a friendly victory over Benin, and announced his retirement after leading the national team to win the 2022 World Cup. He finished his international career with 208 appearances and 126 goals. Over more than 15 years, their rivalry was marked by mutual respect, which became evident in Ronaldo's comments and his exchanges with Messi, who is currently playing for Inter Miami in the United States, while Ronaldo plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
