The article discusses the Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco. After the committee reviewing the appeal granted the Senegalese team the right to challenge the decision, the victory awarded to Morocco on the field was overturned. Senegal had been crowned champions on January 18 in Rabat, but the Appeals Committee issued its decision in March to revoke the title following protests over Senegalese players' withdrawal from the pitch and their subsequent protests during the final match. It is worth noting that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling reflects an exceptional case, as it is unprecedented for a title won on the field by a team to be rescinded. A final decision is expected soon after a closed session in which representatives from the Senegalese, Moroccan federations, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) were heard. Currently, there is a legal and ethical debate over the legitimacy of the decision and its impact on principles of sports justice, with Senegalese efforts underway to reclaim the title, amid calls for investigations into potential corruption within CAF leadership.
