Manchester City hit by financial charges
A report has indicated that Manchester City is facing a new legal dilemma after being convicted by the English Premier League for violations related to financial misconduct, including revenue manipulation and reducing costs by over 900 million pounds through fictitious sponsorship contracts. The club intends to appeal the independent committee's decision, which found it guilty of 114 out of 115 charges, asserting that the sponsorship deals were genuine and that the funding came from the Abu Dhabi government, not from the ownership group. Previous statements from Etihad Airways, which denied government support for funding its activities, could weaken the club's defense. An independent panel is currently awaiting its final decision, and the conviction could lead to sanctions such as exclusion from the league, point deductions, and fines.
