Ireland coach defends Bazunu after omission
Ireland's national team coach, Hemer Halgrímsson, defended goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu after his decision not to participate in the matches against Israel. He confirmed that many lies have been spread regarding the implications of this within the team. He explained that the player is well-liked and has a high spirited attitude, and that the relationships among the players remain strong despite the controversy. Although most players took part in the first match, which Ireland won 3-0, Bazunu will not be part of the second game against Israel, which will be held behind closed doors. No issues are expected regarding the arrangement of the match.
