Qatar Defeated by Bahrain in Gulf Cup
The goalkeeper of the Qatari national team, Meshal Burshem, has been sidelined from the Gulf Cup due to injury, and goalkeeper Shihab Al-Leithi has been appointed as his replacement, according to an official statement from the Qatari Football Association. Al-Leithi, who is 26 years old, has played one international match in 2024 against India, which Qatar won 2-1, and he was a substitute in the last Arab Cup in 2025. The Qatari team is preparing to face Bahrain in Group Two of the tournament, which kicks off in Jeddah on September 24, amid the absence of Burshem due to injury.
