Zidane sidesteps France's key players
Zinedine Zidane began his tenure with the French national team by making changes to organize media appearances and reduce unregulated interference during players' arrival at the Clairefontaine camp. He decided to prevent journalists from attending the players’ arrival, and instead, the French Football Federation's cameras will cover the arrivals and provide the footage later. The coaching staff is also aiming to have greater control over media appearances in the early days, while continuing with daily press conferences, and possibly organizing mixed zones after training sessions to facilitate organized meetings. Zidane's first matches with the national team will be against Turkey and Belgium in the UEFA Nations League in September and October.
