The United Arab Emirates has achieved historic sporting successes in its participation in the Asian Games, with a total medal count of 60 medals since its first participation in Bangkok in 1978. This includes 12 gold, 21 silver, and 27 bronze medals. In the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 edition, which opens on Saturday in Japan and runs until October 4, 2026, over 11,000 athletes from 45 countries are participating. The event features 165 male and female athletes competing in 16 diverse sports, with a noticeable increase in female participation—from 38 to 48 athletes.
