Ronaldo Returns as Portugal Leads
Portugal's new national team coach, Jürgen Jesus, has announced the squad that will participate in the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches. This includes calling up star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has stated that last summer's World Cup will be his final major tournament, although he has not yet specified when he will retire from international play. Ronaldo will be 43 years old during Euro 2028, which will be the nearest major tournament in the future. Portugal's matches are set to begin against Wales on September 24, followed by games against Norway and Denmark. This comes after Jesus took over as head coach, replacing Roberto Martinez, and before that, he coached Saudi club Al Nassr, where Ronaldo is also playing. Ronaldo is Portugal's all-time top scorer with 146 goals and was part of the team that won the European Championship in 2016.
