Kanazawa's 90s Bodybuilding Rise
Japanese athlete Toshisuke Kanazawa won first place in the 85+ age category at the Japan Masters Bodybuilding Championship, just one day after celebrating his 90th birthday. Kanazawa is considered one of the oldest athletes in the bodybuilding world, having started exercising at a young age and winning the "Mr. Japan" title twice before retiring at the age of 34. After a 16-year hiatus, he returned to training at age 50 to encourage his wife, and he has continued competing to this day. He explains that his life’s effort helps him face the decline in strength with age, and his passion for bodybuilding remains strong despite being 90 years old.
