Zidane Staff Member on Firing
French podiatry specialist Marc Retali, who was recently appointed, protested his exclusion from the France national team coaching staff led by Zinedine Zidane, just days after his appointment. He confirmed that he had not yet signed his contract at the time of his interview following his appointment announcement. He explained that the French Football Federation considered that he had not respected the duty of confidentiality due to his discussions with the media before signing the contract, even though he was not officially bound by a contract at that time. He added that the punishment was harsh, as he was quickly dismissed and regarded the decision as unfair, expressing his dismay at the manner of the announcement, which he felt made him "a lesson." It is worth noting that Retali has extensive experience in foot treatment and is currently working on restoring his professional reputation after this incident.
