UAE Clubs Seek Ideal Professional Criteria
The article discusses the process of selecting foreign professionals in the ADNOC Pro League, emphasizing that it no longer relies solely on the player's name or nationality. Instead, it depends on technical standards and data analysis. It highlights the importance of evaluating a player's performance by watching full matches, focusing on technical and tactical qualities that meet the team's needs, rather than relying on resumes or nationality. The article also stresses the significance of identifying the club's needs before entering the market and shifting the selection criteria from searching for high-profile names to choosing the right player, considering budget, football philosophy, and management culture. It illustrates that transfer markets have become more diverse, with increased competition and expenditure driven by selecting the best players based on precise performance and tactical fit, rather than merely competing for big names or marketing hype. Lastly, the article shows how technological advances have helped clubs assess players more accurately, with a growing diversity of nationalities among professionals, especially from Europe and Africa, while maintaining interest in Arab professionals. The average age of foreign players in the league has risen to 30.2 years.
